Become a better parent, partner, and entrepreneur
You run a business, run your household, and barely sleep 6 hours a night. Feeling tired as it is, IF you find one hour to spare per day; why spend time getting into all kinds of awkward positions when you feel already burnt out? Why yoga if you can not even touch your toes?! What you learn in yoga continues outside of your practice. What? What you learn in yoga, literally continues after your workout. You see, yoga was never meant to be just a physical exercise. Yoga is all about training the mind, and I will explain to you how this wonderful practice of self-discovery and strength can benefit you in becoming the best version of yourself.
Me, myself, and yoga
Before I became a mother, I traveled and worked as a fashion model, gained a Masters Degree in Naturopathic Psychology, and dived into entrepreneurship. Being the wife of a successful businessman, I had to master flexibility in the sense of always having to be ready to move around. Living between Miami, Florida and Phuket, Thailand definitely adds up miles. So a dog and a baby later, yoga had become my holy grail.
The biggest misconception about yoga is that people think they have to be flexible to qualify. I often hear: “Oh I am not flexible enough to do that, why even try?” That is almost like saying I am too dirty, why even take a bath! Yoga is not about the end pose; you will get there eventually with enough practice. Most importantly yoga is teaching you to control your thoughts, your focus, and therefore your reactions. And with a lot of consistent practice this will transpire into your daily life. Daily yoga teaches you to breathe in stressful situations, to detach, to focus, and let go of what no longer serves you. And the way you respond to situations, can determine your success in life. Whether you are dealing with toddler tantrums, an important business deal, or both, your yoga practice will benefit you in every aspect of life.
What is Dynamic Vinyasa yoga?
Dynamic Vinyasa is a style of yoga that is fluid between breath and movement, while creating a lot of heat in the body quickly. This creates a boost in energy levels, increased flexibility, strong muscles (especially core), and increased coordination. I teach this modern style of yoga because it brings a lot of freedom for creative sequencing, and also gives fast results when it comes to muscle toning and increased flexibility. Some would say it looks almost like a dance, the fluid coordination between breath and movement.
